A former PTTK mountain hut from the 1930s in Cisownica, on the slope of Zagoj hill, now a restaurant with rooms.
The former PTTK mountain hut “Pod Tułem” (Schronisko PTTK “Pod Tułem”) stands in Cisownica, on the north-western slope of Zagoj hill, at an altitude of 474 m above sea level. In the Silesian Beskids it lies north of the summit of Tuł. The building ceased to be a mountain hut after being sold in 2006 and today operates as a restaurant with guest rooms.
The building was erected in 1930-1931 by a German merchant, Krisch, from Cieszyn, as a private villa. After the Second World War it was taken over by the state, and in 1946 it was handed to the Cieszyn branch of the Polish Tatra Society, which set up a tourist station here. At first it was open seasonally, later all year round.
After renovation in 1968-1969 the Polish Tourist and Sightseeing Society opened a mountain hut here with 32 beds. New sanitary facilities, a drinking water intake, sewerage and a laundry were built then, and a dining room and a terrace were added to the building.
The walk from Goleszów takes 1 hour 15 minutes, from Wielka Czantoria 1 hour 45 minutes, and from Ustroń via Mała Czantoria, by the yellow and black trails, 3 hours. Check the walking times in a current guidebook before setting out.
Nearest, about 1.8 km as the crow flies, is Dzięgielów Castle. It is about 2.9 km to the Church of St Michael the Archangel in Goleszów, and about 5.4 km to the Czantoria nature reserve.
