A municipal museum in the former villa of the director of the "Saturn" mine, with an exhibition on the mining identity of the Basin and a machine park.
The Saturn Museum in Czeladź collects memorabilia related to the history of the town and the mining industry. Its main seat is the former villa of the director of the "Saturn" mine, known as the Palace under the Pillars (Pałac pod Filarami).
The museum operates under a resolution of the Czeladź City Council of October 2008 and is a municipal organisational unit. It continues the work of the Czeladź Tradition Room, founded in 2003. According to the museum's website the Palace under the Pillars has been its main seat since 2009.
The museum has two seats: the palace mentioned above and the Elektrownia Gallery, open since 2016 in a restored post-industrial building linked to the former mine. The museum's website lists the exhibitions: the Pay Hall (Cechownia) with the exhibition "The Mining Identity of the Basin", the Machine Park in the Elektrownia Gallery and a children's zone. The museum also looks after the historic Jewish cemetery in Czeladź.
Besides the exhibitions, the institution carries out educational and publishing activities, and also organises temporary exhibitions on the history of Czeladź and the Dąbrowa Basin.
Czeladź lies on the border with Będzin, where Będzin Castle stands. The industrial theme is continued in nearby Katowice by the Walcownia - Zinc Metallurgy Museum.
