A 50 ha reservoir in Jaworzno, created in a former sand mine working, with a guarded bathing area and water equipment hire.
Sosina is a post-extraction reservoir in Jaworzno covering 50 ha, created in the 1960s on the site of a working left after sand extraction by the "Szczakowa" Sand Mine. Around the water lies a further 30 ha of forest and meadow complex, and in the south-western part there is a guarded bathing area.
The reservoir lies in the Jaworzno-Chrzanów Industrial District, in the Biskupi Bór Basin. The bottom of the basin is formed by glacial deposits: fluvioglacial sands, clays and loams. The water is of the second purity class.
In the middle of the reservoir, on a small island, there is a waterfowl reserve. The shape of the bottom and shoreline favours water sports.
By the bathing area there are sandy and grassy beaches, beach volleyball courts, a water equipment hire point and an amphitheatre. The Energy Festival used to be held by the reservoir.
