An artificial pond of 3.25 ha in Bytków, a former ecological site with reed beds and waterbirds.
Staw pod Chorzowem ("Pond below Chorzów") is an artificial reservoir of 3.25 ha in the western part of Siemianowice Śląskie, in the Bytków district, on the border with Chorzów. It was created on the mining land of the closed Polska mine.
By a resolution of the City Council of 27 February 1997 the pond was designated an ecological site; this status was later lost. The banks are overgrown with broadleaf cattail, reed and common club-rush, and marsh clubrush also grows here. Among birds, the tufted duck and the black-necked grebe are mentioned.
Across the border in Chorzów is the Silesian Park, and next to it the Upper Silesian Ethnographic Park.
