A forest reserve in Cisownica with several dozen yews about two hundred years old.
The Zadni Gaj Reserve in Cisownica protects a natural site of the common yew on the Zagój slope in the Cieszyn Foothills. The forest reserve was established in 1957, and its area is 6.39 ha.
The object of protection is a group of several dozen yews about 200 years old, growing among a transformed Carpathian beech forest. The yew is a species rarely met in Poland, which is why the site has natural value.
The reserve lies in the municipality of Goleszów and is managed by the Ustroń Forest District. It is in the buffer zone of the Silesian Beskids Landscape Park and forms part of the Natura 2000 area “Beskid Śląski”. Since November 2018 active protection measures have applied here.
