A ski resort in Istebna with a chairlift from 2012 and floodlit runs with a combined length of 3.67 km.
Złoty Groń in Istebna is a ski resort on the north-eastern slope of the hill of the same name, above the Olza river in the Silesian Beskids. It has a six-seat chairlift and runs with a combined length of 3.67 km.
The main part of the resort is a chairlift 765 m long with a vertical drop of 150 m, opened on 22 December 2012. Before that a drag lift operated here. It is complemented by a 290 m button lift and a short 40 m lift for beginners.
There are three main runs of 850 to 1,500 m, of blue or red-blue difficulty, a run by the button lift and a short green run for beginners. The highest point of the runs lies at about 700 m above sea level, the lowest at about 550 m. The runs are floodlit, groomed and topped up with artificial snow.
The resort has a children’s park, a ski school, catering and equipment hire, as well as a car park for about 650 cars and a GOPR post.
Nearest, less than a kilometre away, lies the Zagroń Istebna Complex, the second ski resort of Istebna. A kilometre further stands the Kawulok Smoke Hut, and in the centre of the village the Jan Wałach Museum.
