A ski resort in Istebna with a six-seat chairlift from 2012 and floodlit runs of up to 1,500 m.
The Złoty Groń Ski Resort lies in Istebna in the Silesian Beskids, on the Olza river, on the north-eastern slope of Złoty Groń (710 m above sea level). About 600 m to the west there is a second resort, Zagroń Istebna.
A six-seat chairlift 765 m long with a height difference of 150 m, opened on 22 December 2012, carries skiers to the top. Earlier a T-bar lift stood here. In addition there is a platter lift 290 m long and a short lift 40 m long. Three runs from the top station, 850, 990 and 1,500 m long, are of blue or red-blue difficulty and are floodlit, groomed and equipped with snowmaking. The run along the platter lift is blue, and the 40-metre beginners' run is green.
According to the description, the resort has a ski school, a Children's Ski Park, four catering points, equipment servicing and hire, a play room for the youngest, a GOPR post and free parking for 650 cars.
Next door, less than a kilometre away, is the Zagroń complex, and in the valley it is worth looking in at Kawulok's Smoke Cottage.
