A roofed open-air amphitheatre in a park in the centre of Wisła, named after Stanisław Hadyna in 2010, a stage of the Beskid Culture Week.
The Stanisław Hadyna Amphitheatre in Wisła is a roofed open-air amphitheatre in the town centre, in Dr Stanisław Kopczyński Park by Bogumił Hoff Square. It is one of the main open-air stages in Wisła and the venue of the town's largest events.
The amphitheatre lies by the promenade running along the Vistula river (Wisła), near Hoff Square and Kopczyński Park. The stage and auditorium are covered by a membrane structure, built after 2008, when the municipality held a tender for the roofing and modernisation of the backstage facilities. The town's promotional materials give a capacity of about 2500 spectators, whereas after the modernisation of 2002 the auditorium has 1175 seats. A monument to the patron stands in the auditorium.
In the town's planning documents the venue appears as an amphitheatre from 1960. In 2002 the auditorium was rebuilt and the acoustics improved. The lack of a roof was later pointed out as a weak point of the infrastructure in the local revitalisation programme, so a membrane structure was added. In June 2010 the amphitheatre was named after Stanisław Hadyna, and in 2023 the first stage of an extension and adaptation of the backstage area into a space for cultural and social activities began.
The most important events are the Beskid Culture Week (Tydzień Kultury Beskidzkiej) and the "Dni Wisły" (Wisła Days). Festivals and concerts of "Wiślaczek Country" are also held here. You can check the programme for the current season on the town website wisla.pl.
