A square in the old town of Wodzisław Śląski with the Monument to the Silesian Insurgents from 1975.
Wojciech Korfanty Square is in the old part of Wodzisław Śląski, between Sądowa, Kościelna and Wałowa streets, near the monastery buildings. It received its official name only in the 1990s, although the square itself has appeared on maps for much longer.
The most important element of the square is the Monument to the Silesian Insurgents, unveiled in 1975. Its authors were the architect Mieczysław Król and the sculptor Jerzy Egon Kwiatkowski.
It is the main site of the town's celebrations of state holidays, including the Constitution Day of 3 May and Independence Day on 11 November. The square adjoins the Market Square in Wodzisław Śląski, about 100 m away.
