The complex of office towers .KTW I and .KTW II in the Culture Zone in Katowice, with a public square; the interiors are not open to visitors.
The .KTW office buildings are a complex of two towers at aleja W. Roździeńskiego 1 in Katowice, in Koszutka, next to Spodek and the gen. Ziętek roundabout. It is an office building, so the interiors are not open to visitors, but the structure and the adjoining square can be viewed from outside. The complex is counted among the tallest office buildings of the Upper Silesian-Dąbrowa Basin Metropolis (GZM).
On the site of today's complex stood the high-rise of the Regional Directorate of the State Railways, built in 1965-1974. It had 18 storeys and when put into use was the tallest building in Katowice. The last tenants moved out in 2011, and the building was demolished from 2015.
Earlier plans assumed rebuilding the former building to a concept by the German architect Helmut Jahn. After the property was sold in 2013, the new owner chose for realisation the concept of the Bytom studio Medusa Group.
In the first stage the .KTW I building, 66 metres tall, was built and completed in 2018. The second stage, .KTW II, is 134 metres tall. It obtained its occupancy permit in February 2022 and then became one of the tallest office buildings in the metropolis.
The architectural concept was prepared by Przemo Łukasik and Łukasz Zagała of the Medusa Group studio. The office area of the complex is over 58 thousand square metres, and the retail area almost 4 thousand. In building the second structure, a self-climbing system was used for the first time in Katowice.
The complex includes a public square at the corner of aleja Roździeńskiego and Olimpijska Street. It was designed by the same studio. Its main element is a ramp with a podium and steps that serve as seating.
The complex stands in the area of the Culture Zone, next to the seat of the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra, Spodek and the International Congress Centre.
In the area there is also the Silesian Museum, and not far away the Silesian Theatre.
