An exhibition gallery of the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice on the upper floor of a half-dome building from 2007, with exhibitions of graphics, photography and design.
Rondo Sztuki is an exhibition gallery on the upper floor of a modern half-dome building that stands on the Gen. J. Ziętek roundabout in Katowice. The building was completed in 2007, and the gallery is managed by the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice with financial support from the city.
The gallery has two rooms and organises exhibitions of graphics, photography, painting, posters, design and book illustration. The programme combines local artists connected with the academy with creators known around the world.
Exhibitions here have been held by, among others, Maciej Bieniasz, Lex Drewiński, Waldemar Świerzy and Erwin Sówka, and in cooperation with the cultural institution Ars Cameralis also David Lynch, Santiago Sierra and Roger Deakins.
Fixed points of the programme include Rozbieg, which connects young creative people with experienced curators, and Agrafa, an international design exhibition. In 2011 the gallery co-organised the cultural programme of the Polish presidency in the European Parliament, carrying out the five-week project TAKK (Tymczasowa Akcja Kulturalna Katowice, Temporary Cultural Action Katowice).
The roundabout lies in the cultural zone of Katowice: nearby are the seat of the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra (NOSPR), the Silesian Theatre and the Silesian Museum.
