Aquadrom

Kłodnicka 95a, Ruda Śląska
About Aquadrom

A water park in Ruda Śląska-Halemba with three zones: Recreation, Sport and Saunarium, with a pool with a movable floor and a seven-metre diving tube.

Aquadrom is a water park in Ruda Śląska, in the Halemba district, in the Kłodnica valley. It consists of three zones: Recreation, Sport and Saunarium. It opened on 8 December 2012 as the third aquapark in the region, after those in Tarnowskie Góry and Dąbrowa Górnicza. It stands out for the region's first pool with a fully movable floor and a seven-metre diving pool.

What is in the Recreation Zone

The Recreation Zone is the part for people looking for water entertainment rather than training. According to the description of the venue, it consists of six slides for younger and older visitors, a lazy river, an artificial wave, three jacuzzi basins, a basin with water massages and an outdoor pool. A separate zone has been prepared for children called Bajtel Zatoka (Kids' Bay) and Mokry Bąbel (Wet Bubble). The attractions have regional names, among them Wielki Sztorm, Wirek, La Godula, Chebzie Pętla, Górny Ślizg and Zjazd na Nowy Bytom.

The slides and pools sometimes serve as a backdrop for themed events, animations, aqua fresh classes in the outdoor pool and water birthdays for children, which have become a regular part of the offer.

The Sport Zone and diving

The Sport Zone has two sports pools and an instructors' pool. The most unusual is the pool with a movable floor, whose depth can be changed, for example made shallower to 60 centimetres. Thanks to this, children learn to swim by gradually getting used to the depth, and the same pool is used for aqua fitness classes.

This zone also includes a diving tube 7 metres deep. It makes it possible to acquire first diving skills in warm water, with an instructor and equipment on site. The Aquadrom Diving Academy operates there, which in addition to classes in the tube runs a diving course that also includes open water. The offer also includes a swimming school, accepting children from the third month of life, and aqua fitness classes, which according to the description do not require the ability to swim.

Saunarium

The third part of the venue is the Saunarium with four different saunas. It has separate opening hours from the rest of the park, and at weekends and on holidays it is open longer. The venue also includes the Smart Gym fitness club, put into use in 2016 as a so-called dry zone.

Nearby

Aquadrom stands in Halemba, and in the neighbourhood, about 600 metres further on, lies the Halemba hard coal mine.

Within a few kilometres there are also two museum institutions. About five kilometres away is the Museum of the Polish People's Republic in Ruda Śląska, and in Zabrze, about 6.5 kilometres from here, is Guido Mine.
