A municipal water park on Dekabrystów street with a recreation pool, slides, a sauna zone and an open-air summer swimming pool next door.
Częstochowa Water Park is a municipal complex of pools and saunas at ul. Dekabrystów 45, run by the Municipal Sports and Recreation Centre (MOSiR). It stands next to the Summer Swimming Pool with its open-air pools, which guests use in the summer season.
The facility was one of the flagship projects of the city programme Kierunek Przyjazna Częstochowa (Towards a Friendly Częstochowa). Construction began on 20 August 2018 and lasted two years, and MOSiR took over the building on 23 October 2020. The official opening was held up by the Covid-19 epidemic.
The building has three floors, and its built-up area is 6,826.71 m². Its position was planned so that a large beach area would remain between the new facility and the Summer Swimming Pool. It is heated by a cogeneration unit that produces heat and electricity at the same time.
The sports and recreation zone includes a swimming and recreation pool measuring 21.85 by 38 m and 1.10 to 1.30 m deep, with three lanes of 18 m each. Next to it is a recreation pool with a water surface of 800 m².
The pool has a wild river and a lazy river and a wave grotto, in which the wave is produced by a ball. There are also an area of underwater and above-water massages, air geysers, massage benches, water cannons and whirlpool baths. The children's water playground measures 11.5 by 6.75 m and is 0.15 to 0.30 m deep.
The slides are two Anaconda-type ones for those looking for stronger thrills and one wide family slide.
The relaxation zone is on the upper floor and is textile-free, for people aged 18 and over. It has a brine pool measuring 5.91 by 3.84 m and a cooling pool measuring 5.42 by 2.82 m.
The saunas include a Finnish sauna, an aroma sauna, a biosauna, an infrared sauna and a sauna of four elements. In addition there are a laconium, a steam bath, a salt grotto, a salt wall with a graduation tower, an outdoor graduation tower, an ice grotto and a sensation shower. The upper floor also houses a food zone with bars.
