Water Park in Tarnowskie Góry

The Water Park in Tarnowskie Góry operates at Obwodnica 8 and forms a single complex with a sports hall. According to the facility's website, it comprises pools, slides with effects, a wave pool, jacuzzis, saunas, a gym, a fitness zone and catering. It is run by the Tarnowskie Góry Sports and Recreation Centre (Tarnogórski Ośrodek Sportu i Rekreacji).

Pools and water features

The sports section is a pool 25 m long and 16 m wide with six lanes and seating for 96 spectators, with water at 25 to 28 degrees. A separate learner pool is 11 m long, 0.6 to 1.35 m deep, with warmer water, from 28 to 32 degrees. It is used for swimming lessons and aqua fitness classes, while the six-lane sports pool is suitable for training and for classes of the Swimming Academy.

The recreation section includes a wave pool, slides called Tropicana, Kamikadze and Kakadu, a pool with a "Rapid River" with cascades and water jets, and a pool with a grotto where air loungers massage the body and cascades of water flow around. Children have a paddling pool with four small slides and a water playground. Outside there is a pool with air beds and a jacuzzi, a water playground and a beach with sun loungers.

Saunas, gym and climbing

The facility has a sauna zone with sauna sessions and ceremonies, and a salt grotto. According to the facility's website, the TG GYM PARK gym covers 1424.60 m² and is divided into strength, cardio, fitness and cross zones.

In the sports hall there is the Klif Climbing Centre with one of the highest climbing walls in Poland: it is 16.5 m high and has 830 m² of climbing surface. There are sport routes, overhangs, cracks and a chimney, a play zone for children with mats, and a boulder up to 3.7 m high. The hall also offers squash and team sports.

From the water park it is not far to the town's main historic sites: the Silver Mine in Tarnowskie Góry is about 1.7 km away, and the King Frederick Mine about 2 km.

It is about 1.2 km from here to Gwarków Square.
