About Wodny Park Tychy

Water park in Tychy, opened on 30 April 2018, with a recreation zone, a surf simulator, saunas and biogas-powered energy.

Wodny Park Tychy is a water park in the southern part of Tychy, next to the woods of the Pszczyna Forest, on Sikorskiego Street. It opened on 30 April 2018. The complex has 16,000 m² of usable floor space, of which 1,700 m² is taken up by pools, and can hold 1,200 people at a time. It is powered by biogas from the Tychy sewage treatment plant.

What zones does the water park have?

The complex is divided into zones: recreation, sports, saunas and beer baths, spa, fitness and surfing. In the recreation zone, an artificial wave released in regular sessions breaks against the shore of the poolside beach, while a rapid river with a water swing operates in turn. There are also geysers, waterfalls, water jets and neck massagers. Part of the pool is up to 1.2 m deep, for people who cannot swim.

The lagoon zone is a bay of 81 m² with underwater geysers, massage jets and air-massage loungers, hidden behind a waterfall wall. A rope bridge offers a quick way from the mezzanine by the changing rooms to the interior of the building. The slides include the Aqualoop with its vertical start. A sports pool and outdoor pools complete the offer, and the roof is covered with ETFE foil, which lets natural light through.

Surfing, saunas and spa

The surf simulator has an artificial wave of adjustable power, and the basin is open to people over 140 cm tall. The sauna zone includes five dry saunas, among them the Daisy sauna in the outdoor area, opened in 2023, with a four-level bench arrangement for more than 110 people and a temperature of up to 110 °C. There is also a steam sauna, a brine graduation tower and beer baths with a soak in beer wort. In the surfing and spa zone the offer changes depending on the day, so check the schedule on the venue's website.

The Water Academy is an educational zone about water and ecology, open to individual visitors and to groups by reservation.

Energy from biogas

The complex is energy self-sufficient. Biogas from the Tychy sewage treatment plant flows to a bio-power and heat plant next to the water park through a gas pipeline more than 6 km long, and cogeneration units produce electricity and heat. According to the operator, the surplus biogas would be enough to meet the electricity needs of a town of 16,000 inhabitants. A compact, oval form, an entrance lobby, roller blinds over the pools and insulated slides reduce heat loss. This solution is regarded as one of the first of its kind in Poland.

The design was produced by the TKHolding Turszczynski and Kobierzewski studio, and the general contractor was Mostostal Warszawa. The complex has won awards, including at the World Architecture Festival in 2019, the Green Building Awards in 2019 and the German Design Award in 2021.
