Things to do in Buków on the Oder: a wooden chapel from 1770, a church with a grotto and a bridge over the river in the Wodzisław county.
Buków lies in the Wodzisław county, on the Oder. Its three places show the village in three ways: timber building, a church rebuilt after a flood and an engineering structure at the border of two counties.
In the centre, on the square called Kaczy Rynek, stands the Chapel of Our Lady of the Rosary: wooden, of log construction, from 1770, with the date carved on the lintel of the entrance. It lies on the Wooden Architecture Trail. The roof is covered with shingles, and a small turret rises from the ridge.
The Church of Our Lady of Perpetual Help at Główna 24 was built in 1931-1933 in an eclectic style, on the site of an earlier chapel. It was damaged in the flood of 1997, and next to it is a grotto from Banneux.
The Oder bridge links Buków with Krzyżanowice in the Racibórz county and carries provincial road 936. The present reinforced-concrete structure dates from 2002. In 1922-1939 the river formed the Polish-German border here, and earlier crossings were destroyed in 1945 and 1997.
In 1931-1933. Earlier the village had a wooden chapel from 1770, which proved too small for the parishioners.
