What is left of the Koniecpolskis in Koniecpol?

The palace in Koniecpol at ulica Zamkowa 27 is a Renaissance residence, rebuilt after a fire in 1945 and listed as a monument. It stands beside the church. Aleksander Koniecpolski, voivode of Sieradz, began the brick palace in 1603, and his son Stanisław, the hetman, finished it in 1610. Before that a wooden manor of the family stood here.

The Church of the Holy Trinity on ulica Kościelna is a Baroque church of 1632-1644, founded by Hetman Stanisław Koniecpolski and consecrated in the presence of Primate Maciej Łubieński. The Italian architect Maciej Trapola drew up the design, and a painting by Tommaso Dolabella hangs inside. The church stands in the middle of a walled cemetery with an imposing gate on the west side. In Chrząstów, a part of Koniecpol, is the former Church of St Michael the Archangel, late Baroque, of brick, completed in 1767 by the foundation of Michał Czapski, with a holy water stoup of Kielce marble.

The Borek Nature Reserve, created in 1953, covers 64.70 ha and protects mixed forest with oak and lime and patches of alder carr and riparian woods. It lies in the Włoszczowa Basin, and entry is free. More buildings are described on the page architecture in Koniecpol.
