Things to do in Złatna: two mountain huts, a pastoral clearing below Redykalny Wierch and a wooden forester's lodge with a balcony in the Żywiec Beskids.
Złatna is a village in the Ujsoły municipality. Much of what it offers lies high and calls for stamina, but one building, the lodge, waits lower down and suits a gentler stroll.
The idea for the PTTK hut on Hala Lipowska came from the German Beskidenverein, work started in 1931, and the opening took place on 6 August 1932 with five rooms and twenty-two beds. It stands on a meadow above Złatna and Rajcza, over 1,200 m up.
In the upper valley of the Bystra stream, in Złatna-Huta, stands “Gawra”, a private lodging serving meals as a buffet, with a covered campfire shelter. A trail leads from Złatna-Huta towards Rysianka.
Hala Redykalna slopes at 20-30 degrees and was once heavily grazed, hence the name derived from redyk. The forester's lodge of 1853 has a gabled roof with wide eaves, a gable with a balcony and a covered porch running around the building. Lime trees that are natural monuments grow beside it.
Five rooms with twenty-two beds, plus a kitchen and a dining room.
In the Ujsoły municipality, in the Żywiec Beskids, on the Wooden Architecture Trail.
