What to see in Wojkowice? The neo-Baroque church of St Anthony, the church in Żychcice and Krypta 13, a former civil defence bunker.
Wojkowice lies in the Dąbrowa Basin, in Będzin County. Two churches mark different stages in the growth of the town, while the bunker is a reminder of the Cold War.
The Church of St Anthony of Padua is a neo-Baroque parish church in the Czeladź deanery of the Sosnowiec diocese. Construction began on 8 October 1929 to a design by Stefan Szyller and Wiesław Kononowicz, and the church was consecrated on 30 September 1956. It is entered in the municipal register of monuments.
The Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary stands in Żychcice, a part of Wojkowice. It was built in 1936-1938 and consecrated in 1960. Its story begins with a chapel for the Living Rosary dating from 1901, which held five hundred people.
