Architecture in Koniecpol: a Renaissance palace of the Koniecpolski family and two brick churches, one Baroque and one late Baroque.

The town's name comes from the family that shaped it, and traces of that history show in its buildings. The centre has the palace and the Holy Trinity church, while the Chrząstów district keeps a former parish church.

Which buildings in Koniecpol are worth seeing?

The palace at Zamkowa 27 is a Renaissance residence of the Koniecpolski family. A masonry building replaced a wooden manor here in 1603, and after the fire of 1945 the structure was rebuilt. It stands next to the church and appears in the monument register.

The Church of the Holy Trinity is a Baroque brick church raised in 1632-1644 on the initiative of Hetman Stanisław Koniecpolski. The Italian architect Maciej Trapola drew the design, and among the furnishings is a painting by Tomasz Dolabella.

In Chrząstów stands the former church of St Michael the Archangel, late Baroque and finished in 1767. It was funded by Michał Czapski, voivode of Malbork. The building has a single nave, and its stoup was cut from Kielce marble.

Similar buildings are gathered under architecture in Silesia, and the town has a page of its own: things to do in Koniecpol.
