Solo in Koniecpol: a lone visitor's tour of the Koniecpolski palace and two historic churches, one in the centre and one in Chrząstów.

Koniecpol, in Częstochowa County, can be covered at a relaxed pace. The route is short, and the sites differ in age and character, so a solo walk never feels repetitive.

Where should a solo visit to Koniecpol begin?

The best starting point is Zamkowa Street, home of the palace. The Koniecpolski residence draws on the Renaissance, was begun in 1603 and was put up again after the fire of 1945. From the palace you can see the neighbouring church.

That is the Church of the Holy Trinity of 1632-1644. The masonry Baroque building came about at the wish of Hetman Stanisław Koniecpolski, and a painting by Tomasz Dolabella enriches the altar area. Primate Maciej Łubieński consecrated it in the founder's presence.

Finish in Chrząstów, where the former church of St Michael the Archangel of 1767 stands. This small late Baroque brick building has a stoup of Kielce marble inside.
