Nature in Soblówka means Carpathian beech forest, a fragment of primeval woodland and spring snowdrops: the Dziobaki, Oszast and Muńcoł reserves.
The three reserves are in the Ujsoły municipality and inside the Żywiec Landscape Park. Every one protects a different forest or plant community.
In Dziobaki, in the Wielka Racza group, Carpathian beech forest is protected on the north-western slope of Majcherowa; the reserve covers 13.06 hectares. Oszast borders Slovakia and is a strict forest reserve that has kept a fragment of the old Carpathian Forest.
Among flowering plants the star is Muńcoł, a floristic reserve with snowdrops, biggest of its kind in the Żywiec district; it covers the east-facing slopes of Muńcuł and Kotarz. When planning a visit, follow the rules that apply in reserves. Similar places are listed under nature, and the village is described on Soblówka.
The beech wood of Dziobaki and the primeval forest of Oszast are two different faces of a mountain woodland: the first grows on slopes from 850 to 1,020 metres, the second right beside the national border.
Carpathian beech forest, at 850 to 1,020 metres.
That particularly strict nature protection applies, so check the rules for moving around before you visit.
