What to do alone in Złoty Potok? See the Krasiński museum in the manor, the park by the Raczyński palace and the 15th-century church of St John the Baptist.

Złoty Potok is a village in the Janów municipality, in the Kraków-Częstochowa Upland. The three places make a good set for a calm visit: a museum, a palace complex seen from outside and a historic church.

What can you see alone in Złoty Potok?

The Zygmunt Krasiński Regional Museum is housed in the Classicist manor of the Krasiński family, where the poet lived in the summer of 1857. It opened in 2008 on the initiative of the local authorities and reports to the Janów municipal office. For a visitor who prefers a roof overhead, it is a good base on a rainy day.

The Raczyński Palace, from 1856, is a Classicist residence of the Krasiński and Raczyński families, listed as a monument, with a 40-hectare park. It is in very poor technical condition and its interiors are closed, so you view it from outside and walk in the park. The Church of St John the Baptist on Klonowa street dates from the 15th century, and the parish appears in sources as early as 1325. It has a high altar from 1619-1645, a Raczyński chapel and historic organs. The village, the poet and the oak Dziad are covered in an article on Złoty Potok.
