Solo in Milówka: a wooden museum from 1739, a brick parish church and a gallery of carolling customs in a former school.

Milówka lies in the Żywiec region, and the three places here are easy to see alone, at your own pace. Two are indoors, so the plan also works when the weather turns poor.

What can you see in Milówka on your own?

The “Stara Chałupa” Museum is based at Piastowska 1 in a building of 1739 protected by a register entry. Its first owner was the innkeeper Piotr Gorel, so the building may have served as a village inn. Today it shows a living room and workshops.

The Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary is a parish church of masonry built between 1834 and 1839, a local example of the “Vistula” manner. Before it, a timber church stood here, endowed in 1628 by Queen Constance, who held the Żywiec lands.

The Gallery of New Year Dziady and Szlachcice occupies the upper floor of a historic wooden building, a former school. It shows carolling customs: groups who go from house to house around the turn of the year. A library opened in 2022 works on the ground floor.

For travelling alone elsewhere in Silesia browse solo in Silesia; every other place in the village is under Milówka.
