Jewish heritage in Mysłowice means two former synagogues and a cemetery in the Piasek district: three places that show how the local community lived.

Two buildings now serve other purposes, and the cemetery has not been in use since the middle of the last century.

Which Jewish sites can be visited in Mysłowice?

The Synagogue in Mysłowice stands at 1 Mieroszewskich Square. The rectangular brick building dates from 1826. When the community built a larger house of prayer, the old one was sold to a furniture company, and in 1927 a parish took it over. After a renovation in 1928 it became the Catholic People's House. Wooden women's galleries remain inside.

The synagogue in Brzezinka at 2 Starowiejska Street dates from 1910-1911. It is a brick building with a decorative gable. The Brzezinka community ceased to exist in 1922, the building was sold, and today it is used commercially.

The Jewish cemetery on Stawowa Street was in use from 1864 until 1963. Around a hundred gravestones remain within its 0.4 hectares. A broader picture is given by Jewish heritage across the region.
