Architecture in Dąbrowa Górnicza means two Neo-Gothic basilicas, a Baroque hilltop church and the regenerated Fabryka Pełna Życia.

The buildings lie in different districts: the centre, Gołonóg and Strzemieszyce Wielkie. Each tells of a different period in the life of the town.

Which buildings in Dąbrowa Górnicza are worth seeing?

The Basilica of Our Lady of the Angels at Królowej Jadwigi 12 is a Neo-Gothic church built in 1898-1912, and its 86-metre main tower dominates the town. The brick Basilica of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus in Strzemieszyce Wielkie went up in 1903-1910; the church has been a minor basilica since 2008.

St Anthony's Church in Gołonóg is a Baroque church from 1675-1678, set on a limestone hill at 335 m above sea level. Of a very different character is Fabryka Pełna Życia, a regeneration project on the grounds of the former DEFUM machine tool factory in the centre; some of the old buildings already host events while the investment goes on.
