What to do alone in Koziegłowy? Walk from a castle ruin to a Gothic church with wall paintings and a wooden Mariavite church.

Koziegłowy lies on the Silesian-Lesser Poland borderland. Three of the four places are churches, and two of them stand right next to each other.

What is worth seeing in Koziegłowy?

The Castle in Koziegłowy is the ruin of a fourteenth-century stronghold on the Sarni Stok stream, a former centre of the Kraków bishops' estates in the Siewierz duchy; what remains are foundation fragments and the outline of moats. The Church of St Mary Magdalene and Corpus Christi of 1470 is Gothic, and in 1972 27 medieval Passion wall paintings were uncovered in it.

Beside it stands the wooden Mariavite Church of St Paschal of 1917, easy to tell apart from the surrounding Roman Catholic churches. St Barbara's Church of 1670 is Baroque and was funded by the Kawiecki family together with an almshouse for the poor.
