What can you see in Ruda Śląska without paying?

The yellow Upper Silesian Mining History Trail is about one hundred kilometres on foot from Łubianki to Rybnik, passing monuments of mining and metalworking. The much shorter August Czarnynoga Trail, also yellow and 11.7 km long, goes from Chorzów Batory to Ruda Śląska through town, forest and parkland.

The Miner-Olympian stands in the Ruda district on Żwirki i Wigury Square. Piotr Latoska made the sheet-metal sculpture in 1963, and it was restored in 2021. A kneeling figure lifts its left hand holding a torch or a lamp. The city's industrial past is told in the articles Huta Pokój and the Sendzimir rolling mill and the Ficinus Colony in Wirek. Other free places are under free attractions, and the city is covered on Ruda Śląska.
