A general picture of the town comes from the Museum in Sosnowiec in Schoen's Palace in Środula, among the trees of Schoen Park, with permanent exhibitions of modern Polish glassware and the Schoen family's history. Lovers of science will find two university institutions: the Museum of Medicine and Pharmacy on Ostrogórska Street, with historic pharmacies and operating rooms, and the Earth Sciences Museum in the building known as the Razor Blade (Żyleta), with about four thousand specimens: rocks, minerals and fossils.
The fourth, the Museum of the Mother House of the Carmelite Sisters of the Child Jesus on Kierocińskiej Street, tells of Mother Teresa Kierocińska and the congregation, with a recreated cell and a chapel.
