Parks in Zawiercie are the Adam Mickiewicz Park from 1929, Kościuszko Park with a copy of a chapel and the listed English-style OSiR Park.
Entry to all three city parks is free, and they differ in size and character, so it is easy to pick the one that suits your mood for a walk.
The Adam Mickiewicz Park is the largest of the three. It was laid out on 1 September 1929 on the site of a former oak grove, and about 1,600 trees grow there today. The land was donated by Jakub Löwenstein, and the town bought further plots.
The Tadeusz Kościuszko Park covers 4.66 ha and dates from the 1930s. It holds a copy of a roadside chapel of Our Lady of Prządki. The OSiR Park on Szymańskiego street covers about 5 ha and was laid out in the English style before 1901, to a design by Hugo Kuder, beside the Szymański lodge. It is listed as a monument. The growth of the town in which these parks appeared is covered in an article on Zawiercie.
