Which churches in Sosnowiec should you see first?

Choose the Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Sacred Heart church and St Joachim's Church. They give three different stories of the city in one tour.

The cathedral at ulica Kościelna 1, built in 1893-1899, is the main church of the Diocese of Sosnowiec; the interior is decorated with Young Poland polychrome work by Włodzimierz Tetmajer and Henryk Uziembło. Local people call the Neo-Gothic church of 1862 at ulica 3 Maja 20, beside the Sosnowiec Główny station, the railway church, because railway workers helped pay for it. It has a churchyard park, a grotto with a figure from Lourdes and a chapel of the Holy Sepulchre. St Joachim's in Zagórze, at ulica Popiełuszki 44, has two towers more than 70 metres tall.
