Where to go in Żywiec when it rains? To the museum in the brewery's rock cellars, to the Old Castle or to a bunker built in 1944.

There are four places, three of them museums visited under a roof. The fourth, the Miniature Park, lies in the castle park beside the palace and suits a break in the weather better.

Which museums in Żywiec suit a rainy day?

The Żywiec Brewery Museum is visited in lagering cellars cut into the rock. It started in September 2006, when the brewery turned a hundred and fifty, and has eighteen rooms covering roughly 1,600 m² in all.

The Municipal Museum works inside the Old Castle. Its displays cover archaeology, nature, sacred art and the Żywiec highlanders, as well as the history of the town itself; the collection began in 1925. For the story of the brewery and the family behind it, see the article Żywiec: Habsburgs and the Archducal Brewery.

Which other sites in Żywiec are worth a look in the rain?

The Museum of Armed Effort of the Żywiec Region occupies a German air-raid shelter from 1944. It opened on 14 May 2011 and tells of the part local residents played in the armed conflicts of the 20th century.

The Miniature Park in the castle park, opened in 2012, presents models of landmarks of the Podbeskidzie region.
