Things to do with kids in Gliwice: Kolejkowo, Funzeum, the House of Air trampoline park and the Dżungla play centre, five places under a roof.

All five places are indoors, so they work well when it rains or is cold outside. Three of them stand side by side in one shopping centre, and two are closer to the city centre. Some suit pre-schoolers, others older children.

Where in Gliwice can you take a child when it rains?

The easiest choice is the Europa Centralna shopping centre at Pszczyńska 315, home to Kolejkowo, Funzeum and House of Air. One trip is enough.

Kolejkowo is an interactive miniature world on more than seven hundred square metres, with over five hundred buildings, twelve rail vehicles and over five thousand figures. The layout has trains, bridges, tunnels and water, plus miniature copies of buildings from Silesia. Funzeum covers four thousand square metres and follows the idea that a child should do things here rather than look at exhibits. The space has four zones: Build, Create, Discover and Move, with two workshops in each.

What is there for children who want to jump around?

Energetic children have House of Air, an indoor trampoline park of over three thousand square metres, and Dżungla in the city centre, with slides and an obstacle course.

In House of Air the main area is for ages four and up, while younger children use the Kids Zone. The park also runs sports and fitness classes on trampolines and birthday parties with an animator. Non-slip socks are required. Dżungla, at Świętojańska 57, has a separate room with toys and educational elements for children under five, and parents can sit in a cafe. You enter that room in socks as well.

Where can children learn something?

LEGO workshops are run by Bricks 4 Kidz at Zawiszy Czarnego 22. It is an educational centre where children learn through play.

The workshops follow the STEAM method, which joins science, technology and creativity. The centre also organises birthday parties and holiday day camps. It belongs to a chain that also operates in Zabrze and Katowice. Other parts of town are covered on the Gliwice page, and a wider overview is attractions for children in Silesia. If you plan a day in town, also look at museums in Gliwice and parks and nature.
