3 attractions

Nature in Tarnowskie Góry means the Doły Piekarskie nature area, the forest lake Głęboki Dół and old oaks in the Woda Graniczna valley, all free to visit.

The three places lie in different parts of town and show different sides of local nature: a former mine site, a lake in the woods and a former nature reserve. They suit short walks, with no interiors to visit.

What nature should you see first in Tarnowskie Góry?

Doły Piekarskie is a nature and landscape complex in Piekary Rudne, in the south-east of the town, right by the border with Bytom and Radzionków. It covers the summit and northern slope of Sucha Góra (352 m above sea level) and the site of a former iron ore mine, with an educational trail running through it.

Głęboki Dół is a forest lake of about 3.8 ha in the Lubliniec Forests, in Pniowiec. The lake already appears on maps from 1883. The Boruszowice Oaks in the north of the town were a nature reserve from 1953 to 1992. The reserve was abolished, but the old oaks still stand there.
