Entertainment in Silesia means indoor karting tracks, bowling alleys, escape rooms and paintball. See where to go with friends when it rains.

Silesia has a dozen or so places for shared fun, and almost all of them work under a roof. Most lie in Katowice, Sosnowiec and Chorzów, but you will also find a bowling alley in Koszęcin and a karting track in Bytom and Zabrze. The list for the regional capital is gathered on the page for Katowice.

Where to go karting in Silesia?

Karting has the widest choice. In Sosnowiec the Autodrom is an indoor track on Stawowa Street, geared to racing, with a school and protective gear for participants. In Chorzów E1Gokart has a track of six hundred and thirty metres on two levels, a league and karts for children, and from the mezzanine you can see the whole circuit.

In Bytom S-Kart is a hall with a track of about seven hundred and fifty metres, karts for adults and children and a karting academy. In Zabrze Tor24.pl has operated next to a shopping centre since 2000, with a track nine hundred and seventeen metres long and karts in four classes, from Mini for the youngest to Racer for the advanced. Check the minimum age and height with the organiser before you go.

Where to bowl?

There are five bowling alleys. In Katowice Gravitacja in Załęże combines bowling with billiards, food and children's birthdays. In Śródmieście Galaktyka has eight lanes in the Club Garage, next to a billiard hall and a restaurant. In Sosnowiec Pit Stop Bowling stands beside the karting track; two lanes have aids for children, and at one there is a ramp for disabled visitors.

In Częstochowa the bowling alley in Złote Arkady has four lanes and a pub, and in Koszęcin the Kręgielnia Pod Pałacem has two lanes and a bar right by the palace complex. Such a trip is easy to combine with a walk in the area.

Which escape room to choose?

In Katowice-Dąb Quest Cage runs puzzle rooms in two premises, with seven scenarios; the organiser recommends Sherlock's Room for a first game. In Chorzów Strych has three rooms: two adventure rooms for two to four players, and one story-led room for beginners, where a game lasts about an hour.

Where to play paintball and airsoft?

Paintball Suszec is a forest field in a former sand pit; games are played by booking a slot, and the organiser hires out equipment. In Wojkowice Krypta 13 is a former civil-defence command shelter, today part of a complex for airsoft and paintball games with a field next to it.

How to choose entertainment for a rainy day?

Bowling alleys, karting tracks and escape rooms make sure the weather does not get in the way. The paintball fields in Suszec and Wojkowice are outdoors, so in bad weather check the date with the organiser. If entertainment makes you think of the theatre, see the article on the Teatr Rozrywki in Chorzów.
